We want to share a statement from a young woman named Kaziah Anderson. She is having a very, very hard time trying to find housing. "I am, and always will be an ex-felon, ex-drug dealer, with evictions, bad credit, a shitty driving record, bipolar mom who couldn't mom because I had to have back surgery to those who "matter", (landlords, employers, insurance companies, lawyers, judges, my son's dad.) There is NO escaping my past even if I am PERFECT for the rest of my life, work hard, get A's...none of that matters so Y even try anymore? I haven't been in any trouble since I got out August 22 2013. I started school August 26 2013, took 2014 off so I could work and get a place to live but no one will accept me . Came back to school 2015, still working, still can't get a place to live. I graduate and transfer to the UW next year. It's my life. Tell everyone you want."
What is it going to take to bring women back to our communities and work with and support them? This type of discrimination is happening every hour of every day in Wisconsin
